Abuse Issues
Everyone fights a hard battle. There is no such thing
as a perfect person, parent or family. Nearly everyone
can tell some sad stories from their past. But for some
the damage done is more than a sad story. For some the
damage rises to the level of various degrees of Post
Traumatic Stress Syndrome. In this case if the nature
and presence of this syndrome are not recognized there
is little hope of moving forward into a satisfying life.
In some cases if healing does not take place
genuine disaster happens.
The first victim of abuse is always self-compassion.
Abuse victims find it impossible to value him or her
self. Due to the very real psychological and physiological
damage they treat themselves as if they deserve the
disaster they bring on themselves. The reality
of an abuse survivor who experiences a degree of Post
Traumatic Stress has very little in common with the
reality of those not so afflicted. And so
their sense of alienation and isolation is increased
beyond measure.
As a society we mostly associate PTSD with veterans
returning from war. This is certainly correct. The need
to treat our returning veterans is a burning responsibility
for the nation. But they are far from the only survivors
of trauma among us. Many people on the path of recovery
and deeper spirituality suffer with the presence of
unrecognized PTSD. Until there is recognition and healing
steps taken they will remain stuck in their trauma.
Topics covered in our various products dealing with
abuse issues:
- Understanding the nature of abuse and
- Coming to grips with its presence in a person's life
- Symptoms of PTSD
- Effects of PTSD on a life
- Five steps of moving toward healing

Complete Foundation Series SKU: 4010 The Four Part Foundation Series
There is a common process going on behind every label (such as dry drunk, co-dependant, shame based, adult child etc.) That process is the cause of most of the pain in our lives. Understanding that process is the foundation for moving from self-defeating actions to those of self-acceptance and self-love. Learning self-love is a process just as learning self-contempt is a process. The first four sessions of these on-line seminars provides a foundation that teaches this process and provides the "road map" for personally embracing and understanding this process in the context of our lives.
